Salon de Zentis Vol. 17 “Freddie Mercury”

Enjoy the music of world-class artists at Salon de Zentis, a curated listening event at Zentis Osaka hotel

Zentis Osaka will be holding a curated listening event for Salon de Zentis, where audiophiles can enjoy many classic songs left behind by world-renowned musicians. The next installation scheduled for November 24, 2025 is titled Salon de Zentis Vol. 17 “Freddie Mercury.”

This time’s curated music experience will be showcasing the notable discography of Freddie Mercury, who gained worldwide fame as the lead vocalist of the legendary British rock quartet Queen and enjoyed immense success as a solo artist. Recognized for his sweeping four-octave vocal range and captivating stage performances, the legendary singer produced numerous musical works before his untimely death at the age of 45.

In addition to classic Queen hits like “Bohemian Rhapsody”—serving as the title of the box-office biographical film—and “The Show Must Go On,” Zentis Osaka will be saturated with the sound of iconic tracks, including Mercury’s solo releases like “The Great Pretender” and collaborative singles with opera singer Montserrat Caballé on the album “Barcelona.”

Taking place at UPSTAIRZ Lounge, Bar, Restaurant, attendees can enjoy a prix-fixe dinner and cocktails inspired by Freddie Mercury’s famous tracks. Acclaimed music producer Naoki Tachikawa will also be in attendance, recounting anecdotes about Mercury while his music is enhanced by Technics’ high-end sound system.

Freddie Mercury (September 5, 1946 to November 24, 1991)

Freddie Mercury was born in Zanzibar, a small Tanzanian archipelago in East Africa. He began playing the piano as a child, which sowed the seeds for his blossoming musical career. Mercury would later become the lead vocalist and pianist for the legendary British rock band Queen, releasing scores of chart-topping hits like “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Killer Queen.” Furthermore, his success did not stop at being the frontman of an iconic band. Mercury established himself as an icon with a subsequent career as a successful solo artist. On stage, he captivated audiences with his eccentric fashion, unparalleled microphone performance and extraordinary singing voice. Mercury would publicly reveal that he tested positive for HIV on November 23, 1991. Just 24 hours after this announcement, he passed away on November 24, 1991 at the young age of 45.
