Botanical artist Syo Tanii brings his creations to Zentis Osaka in Zentis Art-in-Residence: Botanical. The Osaka-based artist’s work specially made for the design-forward hotel will be displayed in the lobby, being replaced by a new piece every two months through March 2026.
Since opening its doors in July 2020, Zentis Osaka has been host to events and projects with focuses on art, music and craftsmanship, in line with Zentis’s concept of offering ‘Encounters of a New Kind’. In this art-centric event collaborating with Syo Tanii of space decoration brand ‘bulbus’, one of his works inspired by the hotel will be exhibited in the lobby.
Upon his first time setting foot in the hotel, Tanii felt a strong affinity with his own works in the elegance of the space designed with beautiful materials. He expressed the morning sun streaming in from the vast windows, the way the sound resonates and encompasses the space, and the overall feeling of comfort during his stay into his pieces that will be on exhibit for this collaboration. Made with fresh flowers, they evoke a sense of vitality and are designed with the hope of encouraging people to appreciate the preciousness of plants in our daily lives. In each display, viewers can enjoy the fragrance of the flowers and leaves as well as the changing of their color throughout the exhibition period.
Those who book a stay with this package will be able to take home an original item ‘hyohon’ by Tanii.
